The Future of Energy

Ambassador Richard Jones, Deputy Executive Director, International Energy Agency
in conversation with
David Victor, Director of the Program on Energy and Sustainable Development, Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies; Professor of Law, Stanford Law School

With the upcoming release of the World Energy Outlook 2008, the International Energy Agency (IEA) is able to shed light on the most pressing questions concerning the future of energy. The IEA stands as a policy advisor to 28 member countries and has grown to respond to both existing and projected energy challenges since its founding in the wake of the 1973-74 oil crisis.  With new projections to year 2030, Ambassador Jones joins David Victor to discuss what may be in store for the world’s energy markets and the prospects for combating climate change under new post-Kyoto policy scenarios.
