We’re super excited to announce a special pre-Santa Fe Indian Market Kinship trip for a unique behind-the-scenes experience with world-class Native American artists and other cultural events. Santa Fe Indian Market is the world’s premier juried Native art show and biggest gathering of Native American artists and their dazzling contemporary art. Santa Fe is also Bioneers’ home base.
In the four days leading up to Indian Market, we’ll sample a variety of meaningful experiences, as well as spend precious quality time together to dive deep into what we’re learning, and talk about Bioneers’ Indigeneity work.
Our Indigeneity Program Co-Director Cara Romero is a multi-award-winning artist who will again be showing at the Market. Cara will give us a pre-Market private preview of her new work, along with a visit to her husband Diego Romero’s studio (he’s also a world-famous, multi-award-winning Native artist), and tours of other leading artists’ galleries. Other activities include Feast Day at Santa Clara Pueblo, with personal connections with residents, and a seed-saving tour of the Tesuque Pueblo seed bank and its very diverse gardens in peak season.
