Felipe Hernández of Team Hexagro in Milan, Italy discusses his team’s project, a finalist in the Biomimicry Global Design Challenge. Hexagro allows people to grow healthy food on a small footprint. It’s made of recyclable, biodegradable materials with a unique, hexagonal shape that was inspired by geometric patterns found in nature.

Team Hexagro is one of the seven finalists for the $100,000 Ray C. Anderson Prize, to be awarded at the 2016 Bioneers Conference.
