Eve Ensler – Eve’s Revolution
Eve Ensler, playwright, performer, activist, award-winning author of The Vagina Monologues and founder of V-Day, deconstructs the tale of Adam and Eve from a feminist perspective.
“This is the time for radical change. This is the time to come into our bodies to dance and drum and rise. This is the time to stop apologizing for our belief that it is possible to live in a world where everyone gets fed; taken care of.”
If there’s one trim tab that may change everything, it’s supporting the leadership of women and restoring the balance of masculine and feminine qualities inherent in all of us and in our institutions and society. The gender wound may be the deepest wound in the human psyche, and our Everywoman’s Leadership program works to heal this wound.
Through the annual Bioneers conference and our media, we affirm the truth that “If you can’t see it, you can’t be it.” We showcase successful models and practical solutions through the inspiring narratives of women leaders. We highlight and promote feminine-centered leadership frameworks that are relational, collaborative, culturally diverse, intergenerational and appreciative of differences.
The annual conference also grows networks and cross-pollinates the work of diverse women, disciplines and issues, while providing pathways for engagement. Low-income women, youth and educators are awarded scholarships to attend.
From conference content, we produce media including radio shows, themed media collections, TV broadcasts, books and other audio and video media and platforms. They show diverse role models with inspiring examples of women leaders and women’s leadership.
We also advance models of “blended” leadership that embody the virtues of both feminine and masculine qualities. We invite the support and partnership of men in dismantling patriarchal structures.
We present breakthrough models of men working to redefine masculinity. We highlight path-finding models of gender reconciliation.
The program is informed by nature as mentor, and we operate at the nexus of gender equity, racial justice, cultural diversity and inner awareness. Everywoman’s Leadership reframes leadership as “power to” and “power with” rather than “power over.”
Our purpose is to advance progressive change and social healing by strengthening the leadership capacity of women, while advancing gender equity, the partnership of men, and reclaiming the value of feminine capacities and qualities in society and ourselves.
Our weekly newsletter provides insights into the people, projects, and organizations creating lasting change in the world.
